Start With Hello Week - Sept 15-19, 2025
Start With Hello Week starts next week Sept 15th! This is a week we celebrate by encouraging students to meet someone new or simply help create a warm and welcoming environment on campus by participating in activities and spirit themes. These themes are created and promoted by Yearbook and NJHS students, and you can also help your student to remember the dress up themes for the week:

Sept 15 - Hello Monday
Morning Hellos at carline and buses (sponsored by NJHS students)
Morning Show special intro for Start With Hello Week
Students “Leaf” a friendly note for display in the cafeteria

Sept 16 - Team up Tuesday
Wear team themed tops! Examples are sports, colleges, camps, performance or club teams, spirit shirts, anything with the idea of team spirit.

Sept 17 - What's Up Wednesday
Conversation starters. Students are encouraged to engage in meaningful conversation with their lunchmates. Conversation starter cards will be distributed at lunch.

Sept 18 - Green Thursday
Share your friendly spirit by wearing green tops for inclusivity, Trivia at lunch with Mr. Scott

Sept 19 - Faves Friday

Express yourself with tops that share something you like - a favorite character, tv show, food, country, interests, anything that expresses your personality.

Please note, uniform bottoms should be worn each day, and students must always follow standard Hillsborough County dress code.

Davidsen Middle School continues to communicate with the Hillsborough County Public Works to streamline the flow of traffic to and from our school. Yesterday, traffic engineers monitored the Montague/Linebaugh intersection and adjusted the traffic signal to further improve timing. The goal is to create a balance on Linebaugh that moves the traffic with the best flow possible in both directions during the busy pick up and drop off times.  A note to drivers: The sensor at the intersection will cause the light to cycle the signal if there is a significant gap between vehicles for the left turn arrow. Traffic engineers ask that drivers stay attentive at the light and keep up with the vehicle directly ahead of them when turning left to minimize these gaps. We thank everyone for your assistance in streamlining the traffic flow in our community's school zones.

Davidsen Middle School has worked hard with the county over the last 1 ½ years to improve the ingress and egress traffic flow. Last June, the new traffic light, providing the green left arrow was installed at Montague and Linebaugh. We are only in the second week of school and asking for your patience as the county improves the technical difficulties and timing of the traffic light. Be aware that there is a 3 second trip sensor in the intersection! This means, if there is a 3 second gap between vehicle it will active the cycling of the light and the green left turn arrow will disappear. We must pay attention as the flow of traffic moves forward.
