Congratulations to Jacqueline Enis on being named the new principal of Benito Middle School!
She began her teaching career with HCPS in 2001 as an ESE Language Arts and Reading teacher at Webb Middle School. She later served as a Reading Coach and boys’ basketball coach at Webb before moving into administration in 2013 as an AP at Farnell Middle School. In 2019, she joined Turner/Bartels K-8 School as AP, where she most recently served.
We are excited to welcome her leadership to Benito!

This recognition highlights the dedication of our media specialists and administrators who work tirelessly to integrate the library into daily learning, enrich student opportunities, and foster a strong culture of reading and collaboration. These schools and their media specialists will be honored at a state conference this October, and we couldn’t be more proud of this outstanding accomplishment.

Thanks to the Gasparilla Music Festival Photo Ops Mentorship Program in partnership with Blake’s Mass Communications department, these students gained hands-on experience in live music and event photography — opportunities made possible through the Hillsborough County Arts Council and Board of County Commissioners.

Today, Tampa City Councilman Luis Viera honored our Brewster Technical College’s Realizing Exceptional Achievements at a Community Hospital (REACH) Program, which provides training and support to adult students with disabilities.
Through REACH, students build career skills, learn to navigate public transportation, and strengthen their independence and self-advocacy — helping them become confident, contributing members of our community.

We’re excited to announce that the School Board has named our new technical college in Plant City after former Mayor Rick Lott, honoring his decades of leadership and commitment to education.
Opening this fall for adult education, and to high school students in January, Rick Lott Technical College will offer programs in industrial electricity, welding technology, building construction, HVAC, and forklift certification. These programs can be completed in about a year, helping students step into high-demand, well-paying careers right here in our community.
This new chapter in Plant City education is a testament to the power of community, partnership, and vision.
