For the first time, Hillsborough County Public Schools is providing free, full-school-day Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) for eligible students, giving our youngest learners more time to build the literacy, social, and school-readiness skills they need for a successful start to kindergarten and beyond.
VPK provides an important foundation for early learning, helping children develop the skills and confidence they need as they begin their academic journey.
This opportunity was made possible through the support of Hillsborough County voters and the millage referendum, which is helping HCPS expand access to early learning opportunities for our youngest students.
We are grateful to our community for investing in our students and helping more children start strong and be ready for kindergarten.
