TAMPA, FL (April 30, 2026) — Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) has been recognized with the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America (MHA), the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to mental health promotion, prevention, and early intervention.

The Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health is awarded to organizations that meet national standards for supporting employee mental well-being through policies, practices, and benefits that promote a healthy workplace culture. Mental Health America evaluates recipients across four key areas: workplace culture, benefits, compliance, and wellness.

“This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of our employees,” said Superintendent Van Ayres. “Creating a supportive workplace environment helps us recruit and retain talented staff while ensuring our employees feel valued and supported.”

According to Mental Health America, the Bell Seal is the nation’s top recognition for employers committed to creating mentally healthy workplaces and is awarded to organizations that exceed established national benchmarks. Recipients represent employers across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

As the 3rd largest school district in Florida, HCPS supports thousands of educators and staff members who play a vital role in serving students and families across Hillsborough County. The Bell Seal recognition affirms the district’s efforts to prioritize employee wellness as part of its broader commitment to strong schools and supportive learning environments.
