We are excited to share an important milestone in Hillsborough County Public Schools' journey to responsibly integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into our educational ecosystem.
Over the past year, the HCPS AI Governance Team, comprised of cross-divisional leaders, has diligently researched, engaged stakeholders, and developed thoughtful, future-ready guidance. We are pleased to announce that Board Policy 2130: Emerging Technologies was officially approved on June 2, 2025, and that the inaugural HCPS Artificial Intelligence Implementation Guide is now available to support schools, departments, and staff.
This policy and guide establish a shared foundation for how we adopt, use, and evaluate AI tools that align with our district’s values, prioritize critical thinking, protect student data, uphold academic integrity, and ensure access to opportunity for all.
