Tampa, Fl. (February 13, 2024)- Students in Hillsborough County Public Schools soared to new academic heights in 2023 according to the latest high school rankings from U.S. News & World Report. Two district schools appear in the top 50 in the state of Florida on the newly released Best High Schools report, while ALL high schools appear in the overall state and national rankings.

"Today, I'm incredibly proud that all of our high schools are among the best in the country. Our students are graduating from our high schools prepared with the skills and knowledge they need to be successful. Their achievement reflects the dedication of our educators, parents, and community partners towards academic excellence and innovation," said Hillsborough County Public Schools Superintendent Van Ayres.

The high schools in our district that made the state’s top 50 list are:

#35 Plant High School in Tampa (97% Graduation Rate, 70.2 College Readiness Score)

#49 Newsome High School in Lithia (99% Graduation Rate, 59.5 College Readiness Score)

The Best High School rankings are based on six key elements that contribute to student success: College Readiness, Math and Reading Proficiency, Math and Reading Performance, Underserved Student Performance, College Curriculum Breadth and Graduation Rate.
