Tampa, Fl. (November 15, 2023) – Hillsborough County Public Schools students have an exciting day ahead of them on Thursday, November 16. Visitors will come into classrooms to discuss their careers and hobbies as part of the Great American Teach-In.
This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn firsthand from community members about careers and interests that students may not have known about previously.
"The Teach-In gives our community members the opportunity to connect with students and allows students to hear about professions and career paths available to them in our community after graduation. It's wonderful to see students interact with the visitors and really get excited about their future," said Hillsborough County Public Schools Superintendent Van Ayres.
Speakers will come throughout the day to talk with students about the importance of getting a good education and the career paths that are available to them.
Superintendent Ayres and School Board Members will take part in the Teach-In visiting classrooms to talk about their roles and responsibilities running the 7th largest school district in the nation. The speakers this year will also include athletes, community leaders, animal advocates, military personnel, doctors, law enforcement officers, fire safety officials, business professionals, and local hobbyists.
