Tampa, Fl. (September 10, 2024) – Hillsborough County Public Schools will provide an update on its BusPatrol student safety program. The district partnered with BusPatrol to modernize its school buses with safety technology to curb illegal motorist behavior around school buses.
The 30-day warning period started on August 12, the first day of school, before the program is set to go-live on September 12. We are alarmed at the number of drivers who illegally pass a stopped school bus.
Event: School Bus Safety Program Update - Warning Period Ending
Date & Time: Wednesday, September 11, at 11:30 a.m.
Address: ROSSAC, 901 E Kennedy Blvd., Tampa (outside, in east parking lot)
Media will be able to speak to Hillsborough County Public Schools Deputy Superintendent of Operations Chris Farkas and a Hillsborough County Public School bus driver for an update.
Local media is invited to:
See first-hand the stop-arm enforcement technology deployed on local school buses.
Film opportunities onboard and around the bus.
