Tampa, Fl. (January 17, 2024) – Hillsborough County Public Schools is hosting job fairs aimed at recruiting individuals for various positions within its transportation department, including bus drivers and support staff. 

Job fair dates/times/venues: 

• Thursday, January 18 from 4-7 p.m.
  Riverview High School located at 

  11311 Boyette Road, Riverview, FL 33569

   

• Wednesday, January 24 from 5-7 p.m.
  HCPS Instructional Support Center, 

  2920 N. 40th Street, Tampa, FL 33605

   

• Saturday, February 3 from 8 a.m. - noon
  HCPS Transportation Office, 

  9455 Harney Rd. Thonotosassa, FL 33592

   

• Thursday, February 8 from 4-7 p.m.
  Sumner High School located at 

  10650 Co Rd 672, Riverview, FL 33579

   

As more job fairs are scheduled, they will be listed at Drive. 

Hillsborough County Public Schools encourages all interested candidates to attend an upcoming job fair for on-the-spot interviews.  

Requirements for prospective bus driver applicants: 

• Must be 21 years of age 

• At least 5 years driving experience 

• Possess Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit or a valid CDL license 

  • Free training classes offered to prepare you for CDL permit 

  • Opportunity to earn CDL for free 

• DOT Physical, drug testing, fingerprinting required 

• Criminal background check required 

• All bus drivers are subject to random alcohol and drug testing
