Tampa, Fl. (January 17, 2025) –Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) is proud to announce that 18 of our magnet schools have been named National Merit Award winners. Two of Hillsborough County Magnet Schools received top honors, placing them among the best in the nation.
National Merit Awards are given to magnet schools by Magnet Schools of America for demonstrating a commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation and diversity efforts, and strong parent and community involvement. To be considered for a merit award, member schools must submit an application that is scored by a panel of educators.
