The Office for Civil Rights Compliance is essential in promoting fairness, accessibility, and a welcoming environment throughout Hillsborough County Public Schools. Our key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert guidance to school personnel on compliance with federal laws, state statutes, and local regulations.
- Investigating complaints related to discrimination or harassment, ensuring every concern is addressed thoroughly and fairly.
- Responding to formal allegations made against the District through federal and state enforcement agencies, including the Office for Civil Rights and the Florida Commission on Human Relations.
- Delivering training for School Board employees, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to uphold civil rights protections.
Pursuant to Title VI, Title IX and Section 504/Title II, we are committed to fostering an educational and work environment free from all forms of discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment.
