Every school in Hillsborough County was guaranteed a minimum of $500,000 in improvements
when voters approved the Half-Penny Promise in 2018. That commitment has held for every school
in every corner of the county: new playgrounds and athletic facilities, updated security systems and
fire alarms, and reliable classroom and media center technology.
Safer, more modern schools are also part of the picture behind the district earning its first A rating
from the Florida Department of Education in more than a decade.
More than 200 projects are still underway, on track to finish by 2028. #halfpennypromise
Referendum 3 will be on the ballot November 3.
