Since 2019, the Half-Penny Promise has invested more than $1.5 billion into Hillsborough County
schools, and nearly $800 million of that has stayed right here, supporting local jobs and local
businesses.
This summer, nine Hillsborough schools received new air conditioning as part of a $59 million
project, one example of the work happening at schools across the district every year.
The program is also accountable. An independent Community Oversight Committee, six residents
with no ties to the school district, reviews every dollar, and every project is publicly reported and
