The Great American Teach-In (GATI): Inspiring Students Through Real-World Connections
The Great American Teach-In is a beloved annual event that brings community members, professionals, and experts into K–12 classrooms to share their unique knowledge, experiences, and passions with students. It celebrates learning beyond textbooks—where real-world stories meet curious young minds.
Purpose & Activities
GATI sparks inspiration by introducing students to a wide range of careers, hobbies, and life journeys. Volunteers from all walks of life are invited to participate by:
Giving engaging presentations about their professions or personal experiences
Leading hands-on activities that bring concepts to life
Reading stories or teaching mini lessons
Hosting Q&A sessions to encourage curiosity and dialogue
Whether you're a firefighter, artist, engineer, entrepreneur, or world traveler, your story could be the one that ignites a student's future.
