Hosts Annual Expo That Showcases Award-Winning and New Educational Programs
Tampa, Fl. (October 16, 2025) – Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) is excited to announce the opening of the Magnet and School Choice Application Window for the 2026–2027 school year. Beginning Monday, October 20, 2025, at 6:00 PM, families will have the opportunity to explore and apply to more than 100 tuition-free educational programs across the district.
The application window will remain open until Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
To kick off the season, HCPS will host its Annual Magnet Programs and School Opportunities Expo on Monday, October 20, from 4–7 PM at Jefferson High School, offering families a firsthand look at the district’s innovative and diverse programs.
Families can explore offerings from 43 Magnet Schools, each with unique themes including:
- Medical 
- Construction 
- International Baccalaureate (IB) 
- STEM 
- Performing Arts 
- Animal Sciences - ...and many more. 
These programs are designed to boost academic achievement and prepare students for future careers.
The Expo on October 20th will feature:
- Interactive demonstrations 
- Student showcases 
- On-site application assistance from knowledgeable district staff
