Hillsborough County Resources

The county is opening six Comfort Stations, which offer showers, restrooms, ice, washers and dryers for laundry, and charging stations for phones, laptops, and other communications devices. Hot food or boxed meals will be available at lunch (between 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and dinner (between 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.).

  • Operational daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice at the following locations:
    • Desoto Park, 2617 Corrine St., Tampa, FL 33605
    • Apollo Beach Park & Recreation Center, 664 Golf and Sea Blvd., Apollo Beach, FL 33572
    • Ruskin Park & Recreation Center, 901 6th St. SE, Ruskin, FL 33570
    • Sandy Perrone Park, 5120 Kelly Rd., Tampa, FL 33615
    • Skyway Sports Complex & Park, 3901 George Rd., Tampa, FL 33634

The county is also opening a Disaster Recovery Center, which will be open to individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofits seeking assistance or needing help in completing applications after being impacted by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Debby. FEMA representatives will be in attendance to assist.

  • Operational through Sunday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

City of Tampa Resources

The City of Tampa has reactivated their Emergency Hotline to answer residents’ questions regarding Hurricane Helene recovery.

  • Call 1-833-872-4636 from noon to 8 p.m. on Oct. 1

In partnership with Current Initiatives, free laundry assistance with be available for City of Tampa residents on Oct. 1 at Wash Zone (5235 South Dale Mabry Highway) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • State Assistance Information Line
    Residents in need of information can call 1-800-342-3557 for resources after Helene or go to the State Assistance Information Line for additional information. There are English, Spanish and Creole speakers available to answer questions.
  • FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)
    FEMA.gov provides help to apply for FEMA disaster assistance and guides individuals to other resources to help with recovery. Apply for assistance for employment, financial, food, housing, legal or medical. Disasterassistance.gov

  • American Red Cross
    The American Red Cross provides emergency assistance in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. Resources (redcross.org)

  • Crisis Center 211
    The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay provides free, confidential crisis intervention along with referral to a Crisis Center service or to over 3,000 community resources. Call 211 or visit CrisisCenter.com
