In preparation for the new school year, the district is making adjustments moving forward as we see vaccinations increasing and COVID-19 rates decreasing in our community.
District leaders recognize our community is in a safer spot for children to learn in the presence of their teachers and peers for the coming year. We will offer two learning options next year: face-to-face instruction and Hillsborough Virtual K-12.
In addition, after reviewing recent CDC guidelines, face coverings will be optional for all students, staff, and visitors beginning Monday, June 7. We will continue important safety protocols including COVID leads at each school, ensuring PPE is available, and deep cleaning measures.
The district will continue to work with our local public health experts at the Florida Department of Health-Hillsborough and Tampa General Hospital/USF Health to monitor conditions across our community in case a change in this decision is warranted.
