FortifyFL is a suspicious activity reporting tool that allows individuals to submit tips concerning unsafe, potentially harmful, dangerous, violent, or criminal activities and threats. That information goes immediately and directly to appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials.
The app was developed by former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The app name was chosen by students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland Florida, where on February 14, 2018, a former student opened fire— tragically killing 17 people.
You can download the app on your mobile device or submit tips on your desktop computer at www.getfortifyfl.com. You can leave contact information but can also report anonymously, if you prefer.
"With more than 200,000 students in our schools, we know that it will likely be one of those students who hears or sees something and provides a tip that will ultimately stop a tragedy from happening. They are the eyes and ears in our schools every day. We want them to use this app responsibly and tell us when they are aware of an issue that could affect the safety of our schools,” said Chief John Newman, Chief of Security and Emergency management.
We hope that you will become familiar with this app, and we ask that you take all reporting seriously to ensure all of our schools are safe learning and work environments for our students and staff.
