Bilingual Services
Bilingual School Social Workers function as a team with the Bilingual School Psychologists to provide services to Limited English Proficient (LEP) students and their families. The responsibilities of a Bilingual Social Worker include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluating LEP students that are being considered for Exceptional Student Services.
- Linking students and their families with community resources.
- Serving as a liaison between the school and the family.
- Working with school based Social Workers to address attendance concerns with identified LEP students. An Attendance Remediation Plan will be developed addressing the issues hindering the student’s ability to attend school regularly.
The Bilingual Team of Social Workers has compiled a list of some community and school district web links that provide useful information about resources addressing the Hispanic populations.
